Overview
- This article outlines how to archive, restore, and remove orders from eShip.
-
Archive and Remove have two distinct functions.
- Archiving is great if you have already printed an order but don't want to send it anymore, or if you have an unshipped order which doesn't need to be sent yet but want to keep it in eShip. You can keep the order(s) in the archived tab until they are ready to go.
- Removing an order is used when you want to re-import it at a later date from your eCommerce platform.
- All the history of an order is recorded, so at the bottom of an order, you can see if it was archived, redone, etc. along with a timestamp.
How archiving works
- Archiving orders keep the orders in the Archived tab so they can still be accessed in eShip, but actions like reprint or manifest cannot be performed on them.
- If you want to perform actions on archived orders, they need to be restored first.
- Within the Archived tab, there are two sub-tabs: unshipped and shipped (any orders that had labels printed).
- You cannot remove printed and shipped orders from eShip, however, you can archive them.
- If you have previously archived an order, you can choose to restore it or completely remove it from eShip via the Archived tab.
If you redo an order, you are archiving that order and then making a clone of the same order. This is why you will have two copies of the same order: one that is archived and one that is not.
There is no mandatory waiting period between creating and archiving orders, however, it is recommended to archive orders after a certain period of time. Once orders are archived, no further notifications will be sent, and no updates to the tracking will be made.
How removing works
- If an order is unshipped, you can remove the order from eShip entirely.
- Orders removed from eShip can be re-imported from your eCommerce store later.
Archive orders
- In eShip, navigate to Orders.
- Select the orders you want to archive from the New, Printed or Shipped tabs.
- Either right-click on the order or click the Actions menu.
- Select Archive.
- The order will now appear in the Archived tab and actions will not be able to be performed, e.g. you will not be able to print the label unless you restore the order.
Restore archived orders
- In eShip, navigate to Orders > Archived tab.
- Select the orders you want to restore.
- Either right-click on the order or click the Actions menu.
- Select Restore.
- The order will now appear in the New, Printed, or Shipped tab and actions can be performed as normal.
Remove orders
To remove orders there are two options: Remove and Remove all imported unshipped orders.
If an order is unshipped, you can remove the order from eShip entirely. You cannot remove printed and shipped orders from eShip entirely, however, you can archive them.
Remove one or more unshipped order(s)
- In eShip, navigate to Orders > New tab.
- Select the orders you want to remove using the checkbox.
- Either right-click on the order or click the Actions menu.
- Select Remove.
Remove all unshipped orders
- In eShip, navigate to Orders > New tab.
- Make sure all unshipped orders you want to keep are marked as Saved.
- Click on the Actions menu.
- Select Remove ALL imported unshipped orders.
- All orders will be removed, except those marked as Saved.
